video/motion graphics artist cid39k@hotmail.com Cynthia received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC concentrating in computer art applications, during which time she was part of the video team at the Independent Media Center documenting protests throughout NYC and DC, including the World Economic Forum (with The Earth and Animal Liberation Front Movement) and the IMF. Since 2002 she has been an active member and collaborating artist of Projectile Arts where she has designed and created graphics for the "Terra Livre" documentary trailer and is one of the founding artists of "Project S.O.S", a VJ collective that has been doing live-edited-video projections for music/film festivals, clubs and private parties for the past two and half years. She has been photographing pubic gatherings since 1997 and worked for the Associated Press during the 2000 Presidential Debates in Boston. She began working with Projectile Arts in June of 2000, traveled to India with them that December, and later became the Associate Producer on their feature length documentary "Take Me to the River", covering the largest gathering in the history of the planet, the Maha Kumbh Mela, 2001 in Northern India. She Returned to India the following winter to oversee the translation and subtitling process for TMTTR and has been studying Hindi ever since. In January 2003, she traveled to southern Brazil to record sound and shoot stills during the "Terra Livre" documentary pre-production trip, where she attended the third annual World Social Forum in Porto Alegre. Since the beginning, Nicole has been further developing PR, web and marketing materials, as well as assisting with the funding process for a variety of Projectile Arts projects. Saugat Datta: A New Delhi native, Saugat is trained in Communications and Microbiology and since college has worked as a copywriter and a freelance new media artist. He has been involved with Projectile Arts since 2000. During the production of TMTTR Saugat acted as a translator, conducted interviews and shot video. Later in post production he joined us in Bombay to help translate and subtitle footage. Recently he has been involved in visualizing and content creation for various web projects, 3D panoramas, Multimedia CDs with the Delhi based independent media company Studio Brahma. Shalini Kantayya:
filmmaker, media educator and activist amma@riseup.net Shalini, currently an MFA candidate at the City University of New York, was recently awarded the William D. Fulbright Scholarship to make a documentary film on street theatre. She has conducted workshops on media at camps, conferences and educational institutions across The States including the San Francisco Waldorf School, The Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communications, and the Convergence Institute of Media. Shalini has been splitting her time between India and The States for the past three years. |
