Nicole JaquisBased in Brooklyn, NY, Nicole has a BA in Studio Art (photography concentration) and Philosophy from Lake Forest College and has studied educational multimedia development at Harvard University. Committed to producing projects that are not only stimulating to the senses, but also socially conscious, she has done sound, lights, sets and video projections for various performance, theater, concert and fashion show productions throughout India including Goa, Mumbai, and New Delhi, as well as here in States: New York City, New England, Pensylvania, Chicago, and Black Rock City. She has been photographing pubic gatherings (music / art festivals, spiritual gatherings, leftist social/environmental conferences and protests) since 1997 and worked for the Associated Press during the 2000 Presidential Debates in Boston. Since its inception, Nicole has contributed to not only the development of Projectile Arts as a non-profit arts organization and collaborating artist network, but also the production of various Projectile Arts projects and events.

Currently while making a living as a freelance web designer and a multimedia teacher at Hook Productions, Nicole is preparing for her third trip to the Kumbh Mela in India. There she will continue her documentation of Sadhvi (ascetic Hindu holy women) Sanskar (initiation) into Juna Akhara and further develop the project she started at the 2004 Maha Kumbh Mela in Ujjain: Photo Khichiye, Ascetics with Cameras.
