Interdependence Day 2004 - Rome
September 12 is Interdependence Day, developed by Dr. Benjamin Barber, author of Fear’s Empire. It marks the day after our nation’s tragic loss to celebrate the living and the universal commonality we all share. Casey Meade and Kate Cunningham had the opportunity to document the 2nd annual event that took place this year in Rome. It was a weekend filled with intermingling of world leaders, politicians, artists and musicians, opening up new networks and connections to hopefully continue a new global tradition.

Welcome to the
Projectile Arts back to school special!
This summer and fall have been quite a roller-coaster ride. In fact, 2004 has resembled one long summer vacation in many ways. We’ve been working on documentary projects on four continents and producing a steady series of events in New York City. In one month alone (February 2004) we had teams working in Brazil, India, Japan and New York simultaneously. It has actually been a little overwhelming. So much so, that we have overlooked the vital task of getting the word out about our activities. So now, we’re hunkering down for the winter in our beautiful Brooklyn studio and hitting the books! Grants, newsletters, websites, events, press-releases... whatever it takes to expose the world to the exciting projects that we’re working on, and of course, find the funding to complete them. So this simple newsletter is our first attempt to reach out. Please visit the website, www.projectilearts.org. It has been significantly improved over the last year and we’ll continue to update it as we work through the winter. All the best, Casey Meade Rothstein-Fitzpatrick |
